Project compete ! Or is it ?
The work of the contractor is done! The grading, rocking, and seeding of the restored shoreline is complete. Currently, the pump continues to run to bring water up to an acceptable level and it is abundantly clear that habitat is being restored. Geese, ducks, cranes, turtles, bullfrogs, and more are returning to our neighborhood. There's even some fish moving around out there.
Moving forward we will continue to pump water into the system with the goal of reaching a level that just above the new shoreline base to prevent erosion and remain at a level that won't promote flooding in a high precipitation or wet season event. The board continues to discuss ongoing partnership agreements with the golf course related to water levels, maintenance, and even future improvements and partnerships.
Next steps will include getting homeowners to fire up their sprinkler systems, water seeded areas, and continue to look at potential tasks to restore the overall ecosystem of the area.

Total Budget Financed: $135,250 over 10 years at 7% with interest evaluation year 6. Funds have been deposited to FRLHOA account with annual payments beginning 7-7-2024 at $21,000 (FRLHOA $10,500, FRGC $10,500) per year.
